The 2021 International Display Technology Conference was held in Beijing.

The 2021 International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT 2021), hosted by the Society for Information Display (SID), was grandly inaugurated on May 31, 2021, at the Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing. The event drew more than 1,000 attendees, bringing together leading global industry executives and prominent academics to engage in in-depth discussions on advances in display technologies and the broader industry’s development.
The scene at the 2021 International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT 2021)
The opening ceremony of the conference was chaired by Dr. Liu Weidong, Chairman of the SID Beijing Chapter and Chief Scientist at Hisense Visual Technology. Professor Peng Junbiao of South China University of Technology, who serves as both the Chair of ICDT 2021 and the Regional Chair for the cross-strait and three‑region area of SID, delivered a speech on behalf of the conference organizers. Professor Peng noted that ICDT has entered its fifth year, during which China’s display industry has experienced exceptionally rapid growth, with display technologies flourishing across the board. This year’s ICDT has built upon previous editions with new developments and advancements, including hosting technical workshops aligned with the “New Display and Strategic Electronic Materials” key special project under the 14th Five-Year National Key R&D Program—covering areas such as display technology, future trends in the display industry, automotive displays and intelligent lighting, interactive rich-media technologies and their industrial applications, as well as a seminar on critical technology roadmaps for MicroLED and laser displays. The remarkable progress of China’s display technology is widely recognized, with outstanding achievements at every stage of the industry chain.
Dr. Gao Wenbao, Chair of the ICDT 2021 Organizing Committee, Executive Vice President of BOE, and CEO of the Display Business, delivered a speech on behalf of the conference host. Dr. Gao stated that, driven by next-generation information technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and big data, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is rapidly reshaping industries across the board.
